Dining in Beast’s Castle: Be Our Guest Restaurant Review - Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom

Be Our Guest restaurant is a Beauty and the Beast themed immersive dining experience in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. At this restaurant, you dine inside Beast’s castle in one of three iconic rooms - the West Wing, the Grand Ballroom, or the Rose Gallery - with a prix-fixe 3-course meal.

I experienced Be Our Guest during my first trip to Walt Disney World in March 2025, and wanted to share my experience with it here!

Be Our Guest restaurant is located in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom. You can actually spot Beast’s castle from afar since it sits atop a small incline. A Beauty and the Beast sigil serves as a signpost for the restaurant that you can follow.

Checking in

Cast members are stationed at the bottom of the incline to check guests in for their reservation or standby seating. Since we had a reservation, we didn’t have to wait after checking in before heading into the castle.

Even the bridge area leading up to the castle entrance is already fully themed and it looks very beautiful and picturesque!

Once inside the castle, a cast member brought us to Beast’s study which is where we waited momentarily for our table to be prepared. Beast’s study is more on the dim side lighting-wise and there’s lots of red plush seating and different things on the walls to look at. It didn’t take very long after we were brought to the study before we were escorted to our table.

Seating

As I mentioned, there are three separate dining rooms that guests may be seated at. I’m not sure if you can specifically request a dining room or not since I didn’t try, but I would have loved to be seated in the Grand Ballroom (I wasn’t).

The Grand Ballroom

The Grand Ballroom is the first dining room that you enter when you enter the restaurant. This is the iconic ballroom in which Belle and Beast have their dance, and it looks exactly like it does in the animation. The lighting is golden and the chandeliers (which are 10 feet tall!) are ornate and very fancy-looking. I’m pretty sure this is the most coveted room to dine in, and I was most certainly envious of all the people who got to eat here.

The Rose Gallery

This is the second of the three dining rooms, and the room that we were seated in. This room has lots of painting wall decorations of different Beauty and the Beast characters. In the center of the room is a Belle and Beast dancing figure.

The West Wing

This is the final dining room that guests can dine in at Be Our Guest. This room is the darkest of the three rooms and has decor like the shredded painting of the human version of Beast that’s in the animated film.

The enchanted rose is also held in this room behind tattered fabrics. There’s also occasional flashes of lightning and thunder claps to amplify the darkness of the room.

Menu

Each guest receives a 3-course meal where they can choose among a list of options for each course. Each meal also comes with a fountain drink or tea/coffee. Here’s what I ordered for my meal!

You can find the menu at the Walt Disney World website to get the most updated items available.

Bread

Before the meal we were brought some bread and butter. The baguette, while on theme, wasn’t sliced so we all took turns tearing pieces from it. I think it would have been nice for some sliced bread to make it easier for sharing. The butter and oil that went with the bread was good and went well with the bread.

Appetizer: Potato & Leek Soup

Brown thick soup in a large white bowl with sliced potatoes in the center

The potato and leek soup was pretty tasty, but a bit on the salty side for me. The texture was thick and grainy because of the potatoes, which I expected, and the leek flavor was present but not too overwhelming. I didn’t really taste any truffle, but you could catch a whiff of it. Overall, I did enjoy this dish.

Main Dish: Short Rib Beef Bourguignon

Beef pieces cut into cubes over smashed potatoes and a brown sauce next to a green sauce topped with some sliced vegetables

The short rib had a really nice flavor to it. I really enjoyed the sauce that accompanied this dish. The short rib pieces themselves were somewhat inconsistent in texture as some of the pieces were juicy and some were quite dry. The dry pieces were difficult to eat, but with the help of the sauce I was able to finish it.

The real winner in my opinion of this dish was the smashed potatoes. The potatoes were so flavorful, I actually couldn’t get enough of it! If I could have had more smashed potatoes I would have gladly accepted!

Dessert: Dessert Trio

A light brown macaron with pink cream next to a brown tart with gray mousse and a Chip white chocolate chip next to a dark chocolate truffle on a long blue plate

The dessert trio came with three different dessert items on a plate: the gray stuff on a chocolate tart, a chocolate truffle, and a macaron. This dessert was a sweetness overload. The chocolate truffle was very rich and decadent, the gray stuff was very sweet and didn’t really have a distinguishable flavor to me with the chocolate tart adding more rich chocolate, and the macaron was nice and fruity which was a nice contrast to the chocolate desserts but was veryyy sweet.

Individually, I would say that each of the desserts were pretty good. However, the dessert as a whole was much too sweet for me and I wasn’t able to finish it.

Overall dining experience

All in all, this was a fun dining experience to have at the parks! It wasn’t totally mind blowing to the point where I feel like I absolutely need to go back, but I did enjoy it while it lasted, and I actually liked the food more than I thought I would.

What really makes the experience is the theming and overall immersion of the experience. Each of the dining rooms are very beautiful and look just like you might imagine a real-life version of the them to look, which I was really amazed by! The chandeliers in the grand ballroom are actually 10 feet tall which is so wild to me! And the artwork in the rose gallery is really beautiful, so take the time to appreciate it if you’re there!

I will say, however, that I of course wanted to dine in the grand ballroom, so I was slightly disappointed to be seated elsewhere. I didn’t request the grand ballroom, though, so that maybe I could have done something about that (but someone has to eat elsewhere, right?) I didn’t eat in the West Wing, but I honestly think that might be the worst of the dining rooms - it’s really dark in there so it’s hard to see your food, and because so many guests may want to enter to get photos of/with the enchanted rose, the guests in this room might be the ones interrupted most often (and so up close too, for the table right next to the rose).

Beast walking around the Rose Gallery waving to guests while they are dining

Beast comes around every so often - we were able to see him about 3 or 4 times - which is pretty cool! Guests can’t take pictures with him, but they can take pictures of him. I think it would be really nice if Belle was around as well, but I don’t believe she partakes.

The food was average, but like I mentioned, I enjoyed it more than I expected it to. I came in with relatively low expectations about the food, so it was nice to be pleasantly surprised! I definitely feel like you’re paying for the ambiance more than anything else, so I think having that context in mind really helps with setting proper expectations food-wise!

After paying your bill, they also give you a cute postcard “signed” by the Beast, which I thought was very cute!

At $72 per adult (pre-tax, pre-tip), this is a pretty pricey meal. But if you love Beauty and the Beast and you want to experience what it might be like dining in Beast’s actual castle, this is probably the closest experience you’ll get, and it’s pretty nice as a novelty! I don’t think I have a need to do this again, but I’m really glad I gave it a try, and would recommend it for a Beauty and the Beast fan. However, if you’re not super into the idea, then it’s fine to skip.
